Our friends at Age of Comics are producing this show.  So far, everything they’re doing looks right.  They started a few years ago with artist signings at their store (Chris Claremont for example) and parleyed those contacts into one of the biggest line-ups seen in Albuquerque since Stan the Man was here for the inaugural Albuquerque Comic Expo.  Then COVID hit and shows were cancelled everywhere.

Last October was their first year back while negotiating the COVID restrictions for public events.  We still had a great time at this show.  We made comic sales, took in some CGC submissions and made lots of artist contacts for the future.  We've already made our deposit for this year's show (Aug 12-14, 2022).

To get ready for this year’s New Mexico Comic and Film Expo, the folks at Age of Comics had an in-store signing with DC and Marvel artist, Sam de la Rosa.  We were on-hand as an authorized CGC Facilitator to accept unsigned submissions for grading, submissions for pressing and grading, and to witness and verify Sam’s autograph for Signature Series service.

We had a great time with Sam and the folks that dropped in.  We also gained several new customers!

This year's show was postponed until 2023.  Look for more info on this soon!

Terry O’Neill’s one day show is based on the old hobbyist swap meet format but there’s nothing bargain basement about this.  There are no media celebrities, no panels, no toys, etc.; just COMICS!  This show has been growing the last few years.  BIG dealers and big books are always there; golden age to modern.  You can find almost anything here that you can afford.  And hang around for the many raffle items: CGC graded books, minor key issues, and sometimes original comic artwork.

We also got signatures/sketches from Gene Ha!, Larry Welch, J Gonzo, and Brian Rogers to add to our collection of 'Con Cred' - all the creators we've met talked to at shows.

Long Beach Comic Con is held twice a year, first around Valentine's Day and then again in September.  We won't be headed out to the one this weekend (Feb 11-13, 2022), but we’ll be working with Ed Robertson Comics again at the September show.  We’ll be at Ed’s booth (booth # TBD).
